The Stories

As And Beyond, we want to make designs that are both timeless and meaningful. Every element of the design has to be there for a reason. It has to be intended. When something has meaning it has value. Telling stories and adding additional layers is what makes us passionate about what we design and enables us to translate our ideas into fashion. We try not to design an object that keeps you warm outside but one that makes you want to brave the cold. Every day moments that we can make just a little bit more beautiful.


And Beyond.
The Series

The departure point of every And Beyond collection is a story. A story which, as a thin red line, is intertwined with our entire creative process; from the presentation to the packaging, from the fabrics to graphics. In order to fully tell that story And Beyond is involved in every aspect of the design process, no matter how minute. The stories have lead to the creation of a series of fashion items, with each series focusing on several specific products.

 
Background
And Beyond Studios

Designers Jolanda van den Broek (1977) and Brigitte Hendrix (1978) both graduated from the fashion department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 2005. Together we formed And Beyond Studios, as well as designing for national and international exhibitions, we work for clients in fashion, art and design projects. In 2008 we started creating collections and developed their brand; And Beyond.

We have been nominated for the Dutch design Awards and the Off Schedule Denim Awards, presented our work during: Shanghai Fashion Week, Dutch Design week Hong Kong, Seoul Fashion Week, Arnhem Fashion Biennale, Les Canaux de la Mode Paris, NewYork 400 / Pop Up Story and Amsterdam International Fashion Week.
